Bone Factor - Vitamin K2

Vitamin K2 is required in order to use calcium in the process of creating a healthy bone matrix—it activates a protein called osteocalcin, which is involved in the bone-building process (it binds calcium to the bone, thus strengthening the skeleton). Vitamin K deficiency leads to inactive osteocalcin that cannot bind calcium to the surface of the bone.

Higher levels of vitamin K2 are strongly associated with better bone mass, better bone density, improved bone geometry and improved mineral content. Strong bones developed in childhood—and maintained afterward—reduce the risk of osteoporotic fracture as high peak bone mass acts as a buffer against the bone loss we all experience later in life.

Unfortunately, the majority of adults and children are vitamin K deficient. In recent years the dietary intake of K vitamins has dramati¬cally declined. Therefore, supplementation with natural vitamin K2 is highly recommended.

The most potent form of vitamin K2 is a subclass called MK-7. It is so potent that it is only needed in microgram amounts. MK-4 (another form of K2) has also been shown to be beneficial for bone, but is less potent (requiring larger doses) and is also cleared from the body rapidly.

MenaQ7 is the only natural vitamin K2 showing proven effectiveness, safety, and consistent quality when studied in human clinical trials. Inno-Vite’s Bone Factor with 45 mcg of MenaQ7 per softgel, offers the safest and the most effective form of this amazing vitamin.
